Following restoration work between 2012 and 2015 along this stretch of the upper Wandle, the South East Rivers Trust have been working closely with Sutton council to manage the vegetation and maintain a mix of different plant species.

At this event we will be cutting back bramble and gorse and removing the invasive plant, snowberry.

Most of the work will be bankside, but we will need to cross the channel in waders to reach the work area.

All tools and equipment, inc. steel toe waders and gloves will be provided.

Meeting point: The pedestrian bridge between Riverbank Way and Culvers Retreat, Wallington, SM6 7GE.

Parking on Riverbank Way is permit holders only, the nearest available street parking is on Culvers Avenue or Culvers Retreat.

What to bring: 

We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits but please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.

Please dress appropriately and wear sturdy shoes or wellies.
